EULA
One licence, two grants. Version 1.0, effective 1 August 2026.
Prices are on the pricing page, and what activation sends is in the privacy policy. Neither lives in the licence on purpose: on a page they stay a page edit, in a contract they become an amendment.
ARMATURE END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
Version 1.0. Effective 2026-08-01. FabricatorStudio LLC, Westminster, Colorado.
This Agreement is between you and FabricatorStudio LLC (“FabricatorStudio”, “we”, “us”). It covers Armature, the desktop application, including updates we provide to you.
By installing or using Armature you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not install or use Armature.
1. Plain summary
This summary is not the agreement. Sections 2 through 20 are. We include it because you should know what you are agreeing to before you read it.
Armature comes in two licenses. You pick one when you download it and confirm it when you sign in, and the one you confirm in Armature is the one that counts. Armature Indie is free: personal use, learning, and building your portfolio, always, plus commercial use if your organization earned less than the Revenue Threshold in its last complete tax year. Armature Commercial is for everyone above that, and each person using it needs a paid Seat.
If you are a school and you want to deploy Armature or teach with it as an institution, that is a separate Education License and section 3.8 tells you so. Your students are free either way.
You can install Armature and use it without an account. Creating an account is required before you export for the first time. Armature contacts our servers to check licensing. It does not send us your models, your projects, or your work.
Everything you make with Armature is yours, with no conditions and no attribution required.
2. Definitions
“Armature” means the Armature desktop application supplied by FabricatorStudio, and any updates or documentation we provide with it.
“You” means the individual accepting this Agreement and, where you use Armature for the benefit of an organization, that organization and its Affiliates.
“Affiliate” means any entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with another entity, where control means holding more than fifty percent of voting interests.
“Revenue Threshold” means one hundred thousand United States dollars (USD 100,000) in total gross revenue, measured across you and all your Affiliates together, in your most recently completed tax year. Revenue from all sources counts, not only revenue connected to work made with Armature.
“Non-Commercial Use” means use by an individual for personal projects, for learning or teaching, for academic work, or for building a portfolio used to seek employment or work. Non-Commercial Use does not stop being non-commercial because a portfolio later helps you get paid work. Non-Commercial Use is about an individual’s own use. It does not cover an institution deploying or distributing Armature, which is addressed in section 3.8.
“Education License” means a separate written agreement under which an educational institution is licensed to use Armature for teaching and coursework. Education Licenses are available from us on request.
“Commercial Use” means any use that is not Non-Commercial Use.
“Seat” means a license for one named individual to use Armature.
“Account” means the FabricatorStudio account you create to use Armature’s export features.
“License Key” means the credential issued to you for a Seat.
“Activation” means the process by which Armature verifies an Account or a License Key with our servers.
“Your Output” means anything you produce using Armature, including skeletons, joint placements, skin weights, exported files, project files, and any assets you supply.
3. License grant
Armature is offered under two named licenses, and you choose which one applies to you when you download and install it:
- Armature Indie, free. For personal, learning and portfolio use, and for commercial use if your organization is below the Revenue Threshold. Sections 3.1 and 3.2.
- Armature Commercial, paid per Seat. For commercial use at or above the Revenue Threshold. Section 3.3.
Educational institutions are a separate case and are not covered by either of the above. See section 3.8.
Subject to this Agreement, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to install and use Armature under the license you selected, as follows.
3.1 Non-Commercial Use is free (Armature Indie). You may use Armature for Non-Commercial Use at no charge, with no time limit and no feature restrictions. The free version is the complete application.
3.2 Commercial Use below the Revenue Threshold is free (Armature Indie). If your total gross revenue was below the Revenue Threshold in your most recently completed tax year, you may use Armature for Commercial Use at no charge, on any number of computers, by any number of people in your organization.
3.3 Commercial Use above the Revenue Threshold requires paid Seats (Armature Commercial). If your revenue was at or above the Revenue Threshold, each individual using Armature for Commercial Use needs a Seat. Current prices and terms are published at fabricator.studio.
3.4 Choosing your license. You choose which license applies to you when you download Armature, and you confirm that choice in Armature when you sign in. The selection you confirm in Armature is the one that governs, and the download choice sets its starting position. Either selection is a statement about your eligibility, and we rely on it.
Your obligations under sections 3.1 to 3.3 follow from who you are and from your revenue, not from which option you selected. Selecting Armature Indie does not give you a right you would not otherwise have. If you selected Armature Indie and later cease to qualify, section 3.5 tells you what happens.
3.5 Crossing the threshold. Because the Revenue Threshold is measured on your most recently completed tax year, you will always know before your obligation changes. If you cross it, you have ninety days from the end of that tax year to move from Armature Indie to Armature Commercial and obtain Seats.
3.6 Seats. A Seat is for one named individual. You may reassign a Seat to a different individual when the original holder no longer needs it, for example when they leave. Seats may not be shared or used concurrently by more than one person. One person holding a Seat may install Armature on more than one computer they personally use.
3.7 Perpetual, with an update period. A purchased Seat does not expire. It includes updates released during the update period stated at purchase. When that period ends, the versions you already have continue to work indefinitely, and access to later versions requires renewal at the then-current price. Section 16 applies.
3.8 Educational institutions. If you are a school, college, university, or other educational institution and you want to deploy Armature on machines you control, distribute it as part of a course, or use it in your teaching as an institution, that use requires an Education License rather than the licenses in sections 3.1 through 3.3. Contact us and we will issue one.
This does not change anything for your students. Any individual student’s own use of Armature is free under section 3.1, whether or not their institution holds an Education License, and it stays free after they graduate. An Education License covers the institution, never the student.
An Education License covers teaching and coursework. Commercial production or client work carried out by an institution needs a license under section 3.3, whatever else the institution holds. Course material produced by an instructor for teaching counts as teaching.
4. Your Output is yours
We claim no ownership of Your Output and no rights in it. Everything you make with Armature belongs to you. You may use, sell, license, distribute, and modify Your Output freely, including commercially, including if you obtained Armature under a free grant in section 3.1 or 3.2. No attribution to FabricatorStudio is required, in your work, your credits, or anywhere else.
Nothing in this Agreement gives us any license to the assets you load into Armature.
This section survives everything. It is not affected by termination, by a lapsed update period, by an expired or revoked License Key, or by our ceasing to operate.
5. Accounts
5.1 When an Account is required. You may install and use Armature without an Account, including loading meshes, authoring skeletons, and generating and editing skin weights. An Account is required before you export for the first time.
5.2 Your Account. You are responsible for keeping your Account credentials secure and for activity under your Account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised. You must provide accurate information when you create it.
5.3 What we collect. Account creation collects the information described in our privacy policy, published at fabricator.studio. We collect what is needed to operate Accounts and licensing.
5.4 Deleting your Account. You may delete your Account at any time by the method described in the privacy policy. Deleting your Account does not affect Your Output, which remains yours under section 4.
6. Activation and license verification
6.1 Armature contacts our servers. Armature communicates with FabricatorStudio servers to create and authenticate Accounts, to activate and validate License Keys, and to confirm entitlement to features that require one. You consent to this communication as a condition of using those features.
6.2 What is transmitted. Activation transmits your Account identifier or License Key, information identifying the installation and device sufficient to enforce the Seat terms in section 3.6, and the application version. It does not transmit your meshes, skeletons, weights, projects, exported files, or any other content you create or load.
6.3 Offline and restricted networks. Armature accepts a signed license file issued by us, so that it can be used in environments where outbound network access is restricted. We do not currently issue those files. If you need to run Armature on a restricted or disconnected machine, contact us before purchasing.
6.4 If verification is temporarily unavailable. Armature continues to function during reasonable periods when our servers cannot be reached, so that a network fault or an outage on our side does not stop your work.
7. Restrictions
You may not:
a. remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in Armature; b. rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, or provide Armature as a hosted or managed service to third parties; c. circumvent, disable, or interfere with Activation or license verification, or use a License Key you were not issued; d. share, publish, or resell a License Key; e. reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Armature, except to the extent that applicable law grants you a right that cannot be excluded by agreement, and except with respect to third-party components governed by their own licenses under section 10; f. represent that you created Armature, or use it in a way that suggests FabricatorStudio endorses your work.
Nothing here restricts what you do with Your Output.
8. Ownership
Armature is licensed, not sold. FabricatorStudio retains all right, title, and interest in Armature, including all intellectual property rights. This Agreement grants no rights except those stated in section 3.
9. Trademarks
This Agreement grants no rights to use the FabricatorStudio or Armature names, logos, or trade dress. You may state truthfully that you used Armature.
10. Third-party components
Armature includes and works alongside third-party components, each governed by its own license rather than by this Agreement. Those licenses are listed in the notices file supplied with Armature, and they include permissive licenses such as MIT and Apache 2.0.
The components named in the notices file as licensed under the GNU General Public License are not supplied by us. You obtain them directly from their publishers when you choose to install optional functionality. They are separate programs that Armature invokes, and because we do not distribute them we do not provide their source; it is available from their publishers under their own terms.
Optional functionality you choose to install downloads third-party software and model weights from their original sources at the time of installation, under their respective licenses.
Nothing in this Agreement limits, restricts, or adds any condition to any right you have under the GNU General Public License in any of those components. Where a term of this Agreement conflicts with the license of a third-party component, that component’s license governs that component.
The notices file supplied with Armature identifies each of these components, says which of them we distribute and which you obtain yourself, and includes the full text of every license named here.
11. Updates
We may provide updates. We are not obliged to. Updates are covered by this Agreement unless they come with their own terms.
12. Support
Support is provided on a best-effort basis through our public channels and is not a guaranteed service level. Any separate support agreement is a different contract.
13. Term and termination
This Agreement runs until terminated. It terminates automatically if you materially breach it and do not fix the breach within thirty days of us telling you about it. We may suspend or revoke a License Key or Account for breach of section 7(c) or 7(d).
On termination you must stop using Armature and remove it from your systems. Sections 4, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, and 18 survive termination.
14. Warranty disclaimer
ARMATURE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that Armature or our servers will be uninterrupted or error free.
You are responsible for backing up your work.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FABRICATORSTUDIO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR ARMATURE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR ARMATURE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS.
These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
16. If we stop operating the licensing service
Your Seat is perpetual, and we will not let our own infrastructure take that away from you.
If we permanently cease to operate the licensing service, we will make available an update or a means of unlocking Armature that removes the Activation requirement for Seats already purchased, so that the software you paid for continues to work.
17. Changes to this Agreement
We may update this Agreement for future versions of Armature. The version you accepted continues to govern the version of Armature you have. We will publish the current version at fabricator.studio.
18. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The courts located in Colorado have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
19. Consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you may have rights under the law of your country that this Agreement cannot exclude or limit. Nothing here affects those rights, and where a term conflicts with them, your statutory rights apply.
20. General
This Agreement is the entire agreement between us about Armature and replaces any prior understanding about it. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. You may not assign this Agreement without our written consent, except to a successor of your entire business.
