What Fabricator is, and why it is free
Fabricator is a blueprint-driven modular rigging system for Maya. You lay out guides, it builds the skeleton, then it builds the rig, and every stage can be torn down and rebuilt without losing your work. Around it sits a toolset that covers the rest of the character path: control curves, skinning IO, joint tools, pose transfer, and FBX exporters that keep Maya and Unreal agreeing with each other.
It is free. Not a trial, not a demo tier, not crippleware. The whole kit, production grade, for commercial work.
The reasoning is simple. I spent 14 years building character pipelines for AAA studios, most recently leading Character Tech Art at Sledgehammer Games on Call of Duty. Small teams face the same rigging problems those studios do, without a TA on staff to absorb them. The tools cost you nothing because the tools are not the business: if your team hits a problem the tools cannot solve alone, the person who built them is available on contract or retainer.
The toolset ships from this site and lives on GitHub. If you break it, file a bug and I will fix it. If it saves your production a week, tell another team.
