EDUCATION LICENSE AGREEMENT
Version 1.1, 13 October 2026. FabricatorStudio LLC, Westminster, Colorado.
This Agreement is between FabricatorStudio LLC (“FabricatorStudio”, “we”, “us”) and the educational institution named on the order (“the Institution”, “you”). It is the separate written agreement for educational institutions that section 3.8 of the Studio Pipeline EULA and section 3.8 of the Armature EULA refer to.
1. Plain summary
This summary is not the agreement. Sections 2 through 14 are.
One yearly fee for the whole school, stated on the order.
Every enrolled student and every instructor is covered. There is no seat count for students and no charge to them. They can install FS Control Rig on their own computers as well as the school’s.
Students keep it. A student can go on using the versions they received for their own non-commercial work, portfolio included, after the course ends and after this Agreement ends.
Up to five instructors get a Pro seat for the year.
It is for teaching. Production and client work need ordinary paid Seats.
Nothing is switched off remotely, and everything anyone makes is theirs.
2. Definitions
“Term” means twelve months from the date we receive payment, renewed under section 8.
“Enrolled Student” means a person enrolled in a course, class, or program the Institution runs, for the period of that enrolment.
“Instructor” means a person who teaches, mentors, or prepares course material for the Institution.
“Authorised User” means an Enrolled Student or an Instructor.
“Covered Software” means:
a. FS Control Rig - Unreal, including its module library and animation picker, in every version released during the Term;
b. Armature, for the institutional uses described in section 3.8 of the Armature EULA;
c. the Studio Pipeline, through the Instructor Seats in section 3.4 only.
“Teaching Use” means teaching, learning, coursework, assessment, demonstration, course preparation, and a student’s own portfolio work. Course material an Instructor produces for teaching is Teaching Use.
“Commercial Use” means any use that is not Teaching Use, including production, client work, or work for hire carried out by or for the Institution.
“Your Output” means anything an Authorised User or the Institution produces with the Covered Software, including rigs, animation, scenes, exported files, and course material.
3. What you may do
Subject to this Agreement, we grant the Institution a non-exclusive, non-transferable license for the Term to do the following.
3.1 Install and use. Install the Covered Software and use it for Teaching Use, on computers the Institution controls and on Authorised Users’ own computers.
3.2 Distribute to your people. Give FS Control Rig and Armature to Authorised Users, including through a course platform, a shared drive, or a lab image, as long as only Authorised Users can reach it. You may not post it publicly.
3.3 Share rigs. Give Authorised Users Control Rigs built with FS Control Rig and characters prepared in Armature, for their coursework. A rig built with FS Control Rig needs the plugin installed to open and animate, and sections 3.1 and 3.2 cover that.
3.4 Instructor Seats. Up to five named Instructors each receive a Pro Seat for the Term, covering the Studio Pipeline and Armature’s advanced tier, for Teaching Use. Name them by email to licensing@fabricator.studio. You may move a Seat to a different Instructor when one leaves. An Instructor who already holds a Seat of their own keeps it and does not use one of the five.
4. Students
4.1 No charge. Students pay nothing and need no Seat and no account to use FS Control Rig.
4.2 After the course. An Enrolled Student may keep using the versions of FS Control Rig they received under this Agreement for their own non-commercial work, including building and showing a portfolio, after their enrolment ends and after this Agreement ends, permanently. Versions released after their enrolment ends are not included.
4.3 Going professional. Paid work or client work with FS Control Rig needs a Seat under the Studio Pipeline EULA, the same as for anyone else.
4.4 Armature. A student’s own use of Armature is governed by the Armature EULA, not by this Agreement.
5. What you may not do
You may not:
a. use the Covered Software for Commercial Use under this Agreement; Commercial Use needs Seats under the Studio Pipeline EULA;
b. make the Covered Software available to anyone who is not an Authorised User, or sell, rent, sublicense, or include it in a product;
c. do anything section 13 of the Studio Pipeline EULA or section 7 of the Armature EULA prohibits, subject to the exceptions those sections state.
6. Your Output is yours
We claim no ownership of Your Output and no rights in it. Whoever made it owns it, as section 7 of the Studio Pipeline EULA and section 4 of the Armature EULA provide. This section survives the end of this Agreement.
7. Fee and payment
7.1 The fee. The fee stated on the order or invoice, for each Term, for the whole Institution, whatever the number of Authorised Users.
7.2 Invoicing. We invoice by email. The invoice is payable within thirty days.
7.3 Taxes. The fee does not include sales tax or a similar tax. If one applies, it is shown on the invoice.
7.4 Purchase orders. A purchase order is welcome for your records, but its terms do not change this Agreement.
8. Term, renewal, and ending
8.1 Start. The Term starts on the date we receive payment and runs for twelve months.
8.2 Renewal. We will email a renewal invoice at least thirty days before the Term ends. Paying it renews this Agreement for another twelve months. The renewal invoice states the fee for the next Term, and its email says so if the fee has changed. Nothing renews automatically and nothing is charged without an invoice you pay.
8.3 When it ends. If the Term ends without renewal, or this Agreement is terminated, the Institution stops installing and distributing the Covered Software, and Instructor Seats end. Sections 4.2, 6, 9, 11, and 14 survive.
8.4 Nothing remote. We do not delete files, disable software, or reach into anyone’s computer when this Agreement ends. Rigs already built keep opening and animating. The Studio Pipeline stops loading for an Instructor whose Seat has ended, as section 5 of the Studio Pipeline EULA describes, and comes back if the Seat does.
8.5 Breach. Either party may terminate this Agreement if the other materially breaches it and does not fix the breach within thirty days of written notice.
9. Refund
If the Institution is not satisfied, tell us within thirty days of the first payment and we will refund it in full, and this Agreement ends. This applies to the first Term only.
10. Updates and support
Updates released during the Term are included. Support is by email to licensing@fabricator.studio, without a promised response time.
11. Warranty and liability
The warranty disclaimer in section 18 and the limitation of liability in section 19 of the Studio Pipeline EULA apply to this Agreement and to all the Covered Software. Under this Agreement, the amount in section 19 is the fees the Institution paid under this Agreement in the twelve months before the claim.
12. The EULAs still apply
Except where this Agreement says otherwise, the Studio Pipeline EULA applies to FS Control Rig and the Studio Pipeline, and the Armature EULA applies to Armature. Where this Agreement and either EULA conflict, this Agreement governs the Institution’s and its Authorised Users’ Teaching Use.
13. Privacy
An Instructor Seat is an account and is handled under the privacy policy at fabricator.studio/privacy/. FS Control Rig does not need an account and does not contact our servers.
14. General
14.1 Governing law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, as section 23 of the Studio Pipeline EULA provides.
14.2 The whole agreement. This Agreement, the order or invoice, and the two EULAs it refers to are the whole agreement between us about the Covered Software.
14.3 Changes. Changes to this Agreement must be in writing and agreed by both parties. Email is writing.
14.4 Notices. Notices go by email: to us at licensing@fabricator.studio, and to the Institution at the contact on the order.
14.5 Assignment. Neither party may assign this Agreement without the other’s consent, except to a successor that takes over the whole of its business.
14.6 Acceptance. The Institution accepts this Agreement by paying the invoice or by signing below.
