A three-joint IK/FK arm with a full hand, a one-slider fist curl, and forearm twist. The free-core arm.
WHAT IT DOES
The standard arm, with a real hand
IK Arm is the standard arm you drop onto a shoulder, elbow, and wrist. It gives you everything the basic IK arm does, plus a real hand and a little forearm twist, all in the free core.
You get:
FK controls, an IK hand control, and an IK/FK switch you can match so the pose never pops
A pole vector that follows the elbow on its own
A control for every finger
One fist control near the wrist that curls the whole hand at once, with per-finger control layered on top
Forearm twist that follows the wrist so the skin does not pinch when you rotate the hand
- 1
Drop IK Arm on a three-joint shoulder to wrist chain and build the rig.
- 2
Place the hand with the IK control, pose the arm with the FK controls, and blend between them with the switch (use Match so the pose holds when you flip).
- 3
Curl the whole hand with the fist control by the wrist, then fine-tune any single finger with its own control on top.
- 4
Reach for IK Arm when the free rig is all you need. Step up to Ribbon Arm when you want premium twist on the upper arm and forearm.
Basic twist, on purpose
The forearm twist here is basic on purpose. It is good, not fancy. If you want smooth twist spread down the whole arm, use the Ribbon Arm.
One curl axis for fingers
Every finger curls on the same axis, so orient your finger joints the same way and they all bend correctly.
Fingers join in automatically
The fist control picks up your arm's side color automatically, and fingers are found from the wrist's chains. Add a finger joint, rebuild, and it just joins in.
