What

Templates are full rigs, ready to share across similar characters. They work even when your characters have different proportions.

Why

Reach for a template when you want consistent rigs across a whole cast, and rigs that support animation retargeting between them.

How

Drag a template onto your Rig Outliner to add it to your scene. It builds the skeleton and every rig component from the template. If a joint from the template already exists in your scene, it adds only the components and leaves your joint alone.
